How thick will the extensions make the lashes?

Typically a full set of lash extensions will thicken your own eyelashes by about 30% to 50%.  Eyellusion lash extensions are designed to give you a more natural look, but we are able to achieve the Bambi look if required.

What about the length of the lashes?

On average, the extensions can make your lashes anywhere from 20% to 50% longer than your own lashes. If we extend them out as long as say 75%, we find that they don't last more than about a week.

What about mascara with the extensions?
 
The use of mascara is not recommended as mascaras are petroleum-based (oil-based) and will break down the bonding agent used to apply the extensions.  Your bottom lashes touch your top lashes when the eye blinks or is closed, and the transferral of oil-based mascara will shorten the life of your Eyellusion lash extensions.  We recommend that you do not use your normal mascara on your bottom lashes either.

However if mascara is important to you, we can recommend Eyellusion mascara.  This is a specially formulated product that is not petroleum-based and will not break down the bonding agent.  It is best to use this mascara on the bottom lashes only, and if you have to use it on the top lashes, apply only a light coating to the tips (last third) of the lashes.  Always apply mascara in moderation, as after several applications the lash extensions will become clumpy and dull.  The only way to fix extensions that are damaged by mascara is to remove them and start anew.
Remember always to remove your makeup with a cleaner that is not oil-based.

What about eyeliner?

Avoid the waxy/creamy pencils.  Powder brush eye eyeliners are the best as they are not petroleum-based and will not break down the bonding agent.

What about makeup and cleansers?

We recommend that you use powder eye shadows.  Many cleansers are oil-based, and we recommend that you don't use these for the eye area.  We recommend that you use a water-based remover instead.

How are the extensions removed and can they be pulled off?

If you pull on your extensions or are rough with them, your eyelash will come off with the extensions.  DO NOT PULL ON YOUR LASHES.  Please be gentle with your lashes and treat them with care.  If you want the extensions removed then you must contact a trained professional who will remove them with the Eyellusion bonding agent remover.

What is the difference between the Eyellusion lash extensions system and false lashes?

The differences are in the bonding formula, lash type, appearance and feel, application technique, and lasting duration.  False lashes are usually made with a strip lashes knotted together and applied directly on the eyelid using glue. Eyellusion lash extensions are manufactured to look identical to human eyelashes. The bonding agent is formulated for a permanent bond and is soft on lashes.  Eyellusion lash extensions are applied directly to the individual natural eyelashes, one at a time.

These lash extensions look identical to natural human eyelashes, and are luxuriously rich and dramatic.  They are lightweight with the incredible bonding power of the Eyellusion bonding agent that lasts up to 2 months!

How long does it take for a full set of Eyellusion lash extensions?

A full set of semi-permanent lash extensions would usually take about 60 to 90 minutes for a natural look, using between 30 and 50 extension lashes for each of the upper eyelids. If a fuller and more extravagant look is required then the application would usually take about 120 minutes.

How long do the extensions last?

The natural life of the lash extensions is approximately 90 to 100 days.  Your eyelashes grow out in a continuous cycle.  To help maintain the fullness of the lashes, we recommend re-lashing with Eyellusion lash extensions every 2 to 3 weeks.

How do I care for my extensions?

After care instructions:

• The eyelashes must be allowed to dry without anything touching them.
• Do not use oil-based mascara. Only use water-based mascara and use this sparingly.  Gently remove mascara with water-based eye makeup remover.
• Avoid the use of any oils or creams.
• Do not rub or pull the eyelashes.
• Please do not swim or have a sauna for 48 hours after the procedure,as you need to allow the bonding agent to cure.  After 48 hours shortvisits to the sauna or steam room are acceptable, but daily or extensive exposure to steam or heat may cause the bonding agent to loosen.
• Ask your professional for the Eyellusion Longer Life Coating.  Apply this to your lashes daily, or at least 2 to 3 times a week.This product lengthens the life of you extension, and also makes the lashes shine!
• We recommend that you re-lash every 2 to 3 weeks.
• Do not use an eye lash curler. It will break the eye lashes and/or crease them.If you need to curl your eyelashes, use an electricheated eyelash curler, not the standard metal press.
• If a lash becomes crooked please visit your Eyellusion professional. Do not attempt to remove any of the lashes on your own – seek help from your professional.

What is the cost of Eyellusion Lash Extensions?

Prices range from about R450,00 to R800,00 depending on factors such as location and demand, and the desired look (which affects the time spent on the application).

In the UK prices start at £80, and in the US from $100 to $350, per set.

The fee for the touch ups is usually about 50% of the price for a full application, but will be based on the time spent and the number of lashes required.

Can I apply Eyellusion lash extensions to my own eyelashes?

No.  Only a trained professional is able to apply the lash extensions safely. Self-application may cause eye injury and very unnatural-looking lashes.

What about sensitive skin and eyes?

The products do not touch the skin or eye.  However, if you are concerned about this, please talk to your Eyellusion professional.
